The White Rose Devising ProjecT

This fall Trusty Sidekick Young Devisers and Off The Page are collaborating on The White Rose Devising Project.

Our activating text, WHITE ROSE by Kip Wilson is based on the incredible story of Sophie Scholl, a young German college student who challenged the Nazi regime during World War II as part of The White Rose, a non-violent resistance group. Deeply disillusioned by the propaganda of Nazi Germany, Sophie Scholl, her brother, and fellow students formed the White Rose, a group that wrote and distributed anonymous leaflets criticizing the Nazi regime and calling for action from their fellow German citizens.

The culmination of this devising process will take place in December, 2019.

Devising sessions take place on Tuesdays, October 15 - December 17, 2019 at MS 442 (500 19th St, Brooklyn, NY)

Young Devisers

Trusty Sidekick Young Devisers (TSYD) is a youth ensemble of curated individuals (age 9 and up) devoted and interested in the devising, creating and development of original, emergent and progressive theatrical work and experiences for young people and their families with a focus on activating their city, neighborhood, school, etc. in a new, exciting and unexpected way.

Workshops & Professional Development

TSTC shares devising methodology with artists and educators interested in creating work for their populations. Using TSTC processes and productions as case studies, TSTC artists facilitate active workshops that explore inquiry-based, multi-disciplinary theater that encourages audience participation and engagement.
