The Mendelssohn Electric follows Fanny Mendelssohn; composer, musician, and older sister to acclaimed composer Felix Mendelssohn. Fanny has big dreams of publishing her own compositions for the world to hear, but is 19th Century Germany ready for a female composer even if she’s equal in talent, composition, and criticism? Fanny and Felix’s adolescent emotions scream out like teenagers leaning out of car windows singing into the night. Styled in 1980s Synth Pop, Romantic Comedy aesthetics, The Mendelssohn Electric embodies the young dreamer in all of us screaming "Yes!" when the world is shouting, "No!"

The Mendelssohn Electric, commissioned and present by Park Avenue Armory and produced by Trusty Sidekick Theater Company, will premiere in December, 2018 at Park Avenue Armory in the historic Veterans Room for both education and public performances.
